Marymount School Coliseum
It is a Japanese martial art. Karate-do is characterized by the use of fist punches and kicks. In Karate-do, strength (ki), breathing, balance and posture are coordinated. In order to be practiced as a competitive sport, simulated combat rules were formulated in which the kicks and punches did not cause serious injuries in the athletes and the kumite modality was created (one-on-one combat). In the kata modality (Japanese form) the participants, alone or in groups seek to execute movements with a high degree of perfection.
